The Discreet Path To A Straighter Smile
Does your less-than-perfect smile impact your self-confidence? If you hide your smile because of misaligned teeth or gaps, you may want to consider orthodontic treatment. And no, we’re not talking about uncomfortable metal braces! At Trembath Dentistry, we offer Invisalign clear aligners to our patients in Thornton to straighten teeth without the hassle of braces.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that uses clear aligner trays to gradually shift the teeth into the desired position – no wires or metal brackets in sight! The aligners are made from an FDA-approved thermoplastic material that is BPA-free and non-toxic, making it a safe option for straightening your teeth. The Invisalign system uses advanced digital imaging technology to capture digital impressions of your teeth, avoiding those nasty goopy impressions that leave most of us gagging. The software will then map out an ideal treatment plan, which will be used as the basis for fabricating your customized series of aligners.
How Does it Work?
When you come to Trembath Dentistry for Invisalign in Thornton, CO, we approach your case individually. However, below is a general outline of what you can expect during the course of your treatment:
You’ll meet Dr. Trembath for your initial evaluation, during which she’ll check the condition of your teeth and gums to ensure you’re a good candidate. Once she’s confirmed you’ll be able to move forward with treatment, she’ll capture digital impressions of your teeth. These will be used to plan out your treatment and will show you the expected progression of your teeth and estimated treatment duration.
Once your treatment plan is confirmed, your impressions will be sent to the lab for fabrication. When we receive your aligners back from the lab, you’ll get a call from us to come in for your first fitting. Dr. Trembath will instruct you on when to switch out your trays and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also schedule your first follow-up appointment.
You will generally switch to the next set of aligners every 2 weeks. Each set is slightly different from the last, changing as your teeth start to shift. When your treatment is complete (which can range from 6 to 18 months, depending on your case), you will be sent home with a retainer. This should be worn regularly at first and then eventually only at night. Dr. Trembath will provide you with specific instructions regarding retainers.
